Spring is in the air! It’s been official since two days ago and now that the never-ending winter is over its time to get motivated. No more, wondering around your house at 5:00 p.m. feeling like you should be going to bed. Now it’s time to gather whatever goals, inspirations, feelings and moods you were having but felt un-motivated by the winter blues, and apply them to a board!
You need to make a vision board now before summer is here and you’re too busy with life with nothing to remind you of your goals and aspirations. Then the next time the grey days and frosty nights set in you can still see and be reminded of what one wants so badly.
What is a vision board:
For anyone who doesn’t know the idea of a vision or mood board is essentially a way to visualize what you’re most interested in right now in this season of life. It’s a way to subconsciously be reminded and to figure out what you need/want out of life right now. It’s also good to put that energy into something positive for yourself and to manifest. Some people make mood boards every season, once a year to stick with resolutions, or even once a month. If you really want to go above & beyond you could make one every Monday.
How to:
You can create one on canva just sign up or login, search for a template that you like and add in your own photos that you’ve found. You can also be really fancy and do it through Photoshop, or go old school with some scissors, magazine clippings, and a board to glue them to. I however have a big framed board {chalk board} in my office and I just printed out the pictures and used my washi-tape to stick the paper to it so it’s not permanent.
What to put on it:
The basic concept is to find images, photos, quotes, that speak to you and you find visually appealing. Anything that gets your emotions to react strongly is something you should definitely apply. So gather all these texts/images and collage it in a way that speaks to your soul and mind.
Tips:
Once you decide on everything just look at them over again, you may see things that you really don’t want on the board, or you may be missing something very important to you. Just try to focus on the patterns, colors, words that draw your attention the most. One image that you just favor more than the rest place in the middle of the board, and then go from there. Just place everything where you feel like it should go. Try to stick with a guideline like style, finance {saving money}, travel, fitness..etc., That way you’re not focused on too much of one thing.
But something to remember is you can’t make any mistakes with this, it’s about you putting something into the world and letting the energy help your karma. The quote below is something that’s really helped me understand the whole mood/vision board, and it’s absolutely one of my favorite motto’s to live by.
“AS” FAR AS I CAN TELL, IT’S JUST ABOUT LETTING THE UNIVERSE KNOW WHAT YOU WANT, AND WORKING TOWARD IT, WHILE LETTING GO OF HOW COMES TO PASS”
